For all of you who live in tornado alley you should know what I am talking about. For all of you that are not in tornado alley let me tell you about the Midland All Hazards Weather Alert Radio. This radio has come in handy for my family and I. You see we live in Oklahoma and we are right in the middle of severe weather. This radio has alerted us to several severe storms over the past year. We had one in particular that hit that had heavy winds and hail in it and we would have had no clue until it hit because it didn't look that bad, but the weather radio let us know. We were out here when the big tornado hit Oklahoma the F5 and we wished we would have had this then. Obvisoulsy the power had gone out at the time and our little battery operated tv that we had decided that it just wasn't going to work so we sat in the closet until we knew everything was ok. But with the weather radio it has backup batteries so we could of used it then.
This radio also gives advisory's if there is heavy snow or ice in your area which is nice for those school days that your not sure you want to get out in. When ever there is an advisory the radio will lite up with either a red (meaning warning) or Yellow (meaning watch) light to let you know what is going on. I have aslo just listened to it to here the local weather which is nice because if I haven't been able to get to the news that day at least I have an idea of what to expect that day.
On a weekly basis it does a test to to make sure that everything is working right as well, for the price of this product I think that it is a good invest ment. And I would highly recommend it for anyone.
One more thing it is usually pretty hard around here aleast to find this radio out any time during the year except around severe weather season, so if you are out and see it you should pick it up because it might not be there tomorrow.
