My sister recently sent me some money for my birthday, so I used it to buy the Monopoly Electronic Banking game. I love playing Monopoly and am so used to the paper money that I couldn't get how they would use "debit cards" as cash and make it work...well it does.
The board is layed out just like the regular Monopoly game, but each property is more modern and up-to-date, such as Disney World, Centenial Park, and major airports instead of railroads. In fact, the properties are the same as in the Here and Now version of Monopoly. The game pieces are more modern as well. You can have your choice of 6 pieces such as a segway, altoids, flat screen tv, space shuttle, etc.
The coolest thing is that each player gets a plastic "debit card". Each card has a different color on it so that you don't get them confused. There is also a card machine that reads each players balance when the card is inserted and on each side there is an insert where money can either be debited or credited to the cards depending on whether you are making a purchase, receiving money or paying an opponent or a bill.
I thought the game was a lot of fun and it was neat using the card machine for all the transactions, but in a way, I still miss the paper money and being able to see how much money i had, but this newer version is great.
