Monty Python's Spamalot is currently playing on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre in New York City. It is based on the cult film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
I was not too familiar with the Monty Python type of comedy going into the show, but I quickly learned that is it just silly fun. You really can't take anything too seriously in the show. You just have to open your mind and have fun! It's hard to describe the show without going into detail, and I don't want to spoil the show for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I guess the best way to describe the plot is to say that it is about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. Of course they encounter tons of hilarious situations along the way.
The music in Spamalot is actually very catchy. I enjoyed many of the songs, and the cast did a wonderful job of performing them.
Tickets for Spamalot cost $36-111. I bought a ticket for $36, which was located in the balcony of the theatre. Even though those seats are pretty high up from the stage, I didn't think it was as bad as I thought it would be, and I had a clear view of the stage.
So if you're looking for an incredibly funny night at the theatre, I would definitely recommend Spamalot.
