This is a decent collection, but pales in comparison to The Immaculate Collection disc that preceded it.
The songs here are not in chronological order. There are fifteen songs present, and no new tunes. Some of the songs are presented in slightly altered and/or shortened versions.
It is curious to look at the songs included along with the songs that didn't make the cut. Human Nature and What it Feels Like for a Girl were both released as singles in America, but neither did very well. Drowned World was not released as a single in America, but it is present here. Songs that didn't make the cut include American Pie, You Must Love Me, and Nothing Really Matters. Many ballads are not here, but their presence on her ballads collection is probably the reason.
The disc features some of Madonna's songs on one of her CD's for the first time. These include the Evita song Don't Cry for Me Argentina and Beautiful Stranger.
While the work ealier in Madonna's career is probably more popular and well known, this collection has some really stand-out tracks including Secret, Take a Bow, and The Power of Goodbye.
