When vacationing in Orlando my daughters know a trip is not complete without a stop at Homegoods! I could spend hours browsing the aisles and looking at all of their items for the home, from knick-knacks to furniture. On our last trip I spotted this very large owl that I was immediately drawn to.
This 10" high x 10" wide owl is handcrafted by Maxcera. The top portion of my little fat owl is made of an off-white ceramic, with lots of attention to the detail lines of the owl's face and feathers on the back. One inch red glass eyes pop out at you and make for a very whimsical look.
The mosaic detail is all hand crafted with pieces of mosaic tiles in various sizes on the front chest, the wings on the side, and around to the back. I chose the yellow and orange colored mosaic with a floral design in soft earth tones. It is very well made with a white grout in between the pieces of mosaic tile. The bottom of the owl has a protective felt-like base to protect any furniture from scratches or wear.
My owl is currently sitting on a little table keeping watch over us. The care instructions say not to expose it to heavy frost, snow or extreme weather conditions so I would think this is more suited to indoor decor, unless you live somewhere with no harsh weather.
If you live near a Homegoods store, check out their large inventory. You might find yourself a cute little fat owl like I did!
