Soft Bug Skin Repellent Covered

Avonhas created a long-lasting, effective bug repellant that does NOT contain DEET or Picaridin. Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus, made with IR3535. This is not just bug spray but also has sunscreen with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30, and Vitamin E. The 8 hour protection is perfect for camping, hiking, and even yard work. This formula is water and sweat resistant. It holds up well even on the hottest and most humid of days. This is my favorite bug spray, most importantly because it works so well. I feel protected against ticks which can carry Lyme Disease, and safe from mosquitoes which carry EEE, West Nile Virus, and other harmful diseases. It also protects against gnats, "no-seeums", sand flies and biting midges. The added bonus of sunscreen makes this a perfect product for on the go, and ideal for using on family at home. Two birds with one stone! I keep a canister in the backpack, one near the door, and one for each car. Since we like to be outdoors, it helps to be prepared. I love using it on the tent when we are camping. It helps keep bugs away from and out of our tent.

To apply, simply press the nozzle down while aiming it at your skin. A little goes a long way. Only a thin layer is needed for protection. To apply to your face, spray it in your hands, then rub onto your face. This will prevent any from getting into your eyes or nose.

After applying the spray, there is a light film that takes a few minutes to absorb. After that, there is no greasy film, or residue left. I have never had an issue with staining on any fabric, including clothing, blankets, tents, and shoes. Bug Guard does have an aroma, but this fades, too.

Pros: Very effective for repelling insects. Aerosol spray makes for quick, easy application. Insect repellent and sunscreen with a SPF of 30 in one application. Convenient size canister. Effective for 8 hours. Deet and Picaridin Free.

Cons: Price - the regular price for Bug Guard is $15.99, though Avon often has sales and offers it for $7.99. I stock up when it goes on sale. Smell - labeled as "unscented, " there is still an odor. A mild to moderate aroma that smells vaguely of alcohol and citrus. This does fade. It isn't particularly offensive, but don't expect odorless. I Cannot be purchased in a store. You have to order from a local Avon Representative or online through Avon.

Manufacturer information: Consult a physician before applying to a child under the age of 6 months. An adult must administer application to a child under the age of 10. Can cause Substantial but temporary eye injury. Dermatologist Tested, Hypoallergenic. Gentle and Mild formula does not need to be washed off after return indoors.

*I gave this product a 5 star rating on "Percentage Deet" Because it is DEET free.
