My son and wife were driving from Vermont down to Disney World and we needed a play to stay over for the night. We didn't want to spend alot of money since we would only be sleeping a few hours and only needed a bed. We found a Motel 6 in Fayetteville, NC. We have stayed at Motel 6s before and never had a problem. We knew they were basic but at $40 a night, why not give it a shot.
WOW...was I wrong in choosing this place. Check in went alright, but the desk people were not very friendly. The area is run down, and if not for a McDonalds in the close proximity, there wouldn't have been much to eat. The accomodations were horrible, the room smelled, and it appeared to be quite old. The hotel sits back from the main street a little ways and its kind of shadey. The bed was uncomfortable. It had your basic sink, shower and toilet, which seemed to be run down and old.
Our check out process was a whole different story. We checked out early in the morning, and we had to wait over 45 minutes for the desk person to come back from whatever she was doing. All I'm going to say here is that she came out of one of the rooms on the other side of the hotel, adjusting her clothing. While waiting for her another couple had been waiting over a hour for her to arrive.
Also the gas station next to this place was closed but in the early morning hours there was some "activity"going on, and I'd rather not want to know what was really taking place.
The $40 would have been better spent getting some coffee and driving straight through!! Save your money and go camping instead!!!
