Everyone wants to make a movie at least once in their life. I know I do. Seriously, though, I don't have anywhere near the budget to make even a small independent film. I'm really artistic, and I know my share of software programs. But when it comes to 3D animation or even Flash then I'm way out of my league. They're complicated programs that most people have to study for at least a few years in college to understand.
However, for the novice who doesn't have a lot of time to learn complicated programs and is interested in making a short film for fun -- a new, easy program has recently been developed. Moviestorm is a 3D animation program that has easy drag and drop menus, tutoring programs to step you through the menus, and best of all it's free. If you want to add more costumes, characters, or settings to the palette Moviestorm sells them for a ridiculously low price. I really couldn't believe the company was giving the program away free when I got my copy. I haven't been able to find any other program that makes creating a movie so easy.
Moviestorm also has a community where anyone can post their own Director page and showcase the films they've made. Watching the movies others post is a great way to see what the software can do, and come up with your own ideas. I know I can't wait to finish my first film.
