Kate Collins has written the Flower Shop mystery series, and this was the first book of that series.
Abby Knight has dropped out of law school and is now the owner of a flower shop called Bloomers. When a new competitor moves into town and undercuts her prices, things begin to heat up. As if this isn't bad enough, her vintage yellow Corvette convertible is rammed by an SUV, and the driver speeds off. Abby is determined to find the driver of this vehicle, but she also finds a lot more. Murder, mayhem, and a sexy ex-cop, Marco, are all featured in this interesting book, and if you like flowers, you will probably enjoy reading about Abby's great shop.
I've read a few other Flower Shop Mysteries (reviews to follow) and I do enjoy them. The stories hold my interest, and it's also fun to see the developing relationship between Abby and Marco. I also enjoy reading a mystery series comprised of a number of books because it really gives the reader a chance to get to know the characters and to see their personalities develop.
All in all, a good, lighthearted murder mystery.
