I have read a few of Selma Eichler's Desiree Shapiro Mysteries, and so far I am really enjoying her books. I like her writing style, and the heroine, Private Investigator Desiree Shapiro, is a very likable character.

In this book, Desiree's niece, Ellen, is getting married and about to have a shower. But one of the guests takes ill and dies, and that definitely puts a damper on the affair. It turns out that she was poisoned. The victim is the aunt of Ellen's husband-to-be, Mike, and he is really upset over the incident, to the point where he hires Desiree to find out what happened. Desiree learns that Mike's aunt was not a nice person, and she can't help wondering how the victim managed to keep from being killed for as long as she did. Poor Desiree definitely has her work cut out for her, as there are a number of suspects who were hurt by the actions of the victim and could very well have wanted her dead. Now it's up to the spunky PI to find the identity of the killer.

I enjoyed this book very much and intend to read more from this series. If you are looking for an entertaining, lighthearted mystery, Murder Can Rain On Your Shower is definitely a novel to fit the bill.
