Almost 2 years ago me and my wife purchased a 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. We were originally looking at Honda Civics, but after test driving the Nissan my wife had to have it. At that time I was indiferrent about what we bought as long as it was affordable and reliable. Now that we have it however, I am glad we did.
I am 6'3" and 300 pounds and the car is still very comfortable and roomy even for me. The main reason we bought a car at that time is because we had a baby and needed a more reliable vehicle for him. It has been that and more. There is plenty of room in the back seat for my son, now 2 years old, and his toys with an extra passenger. The trunk is also very large as we have used it for vacations taking our luggage, his toys, stroller, and pack and play without problem.
As far as speed and performance go, this car can really move. Now if you are used to a muscle car you may not think so, but the 250 horsepower V6 is great for us. The car also handles pretty good. Not exactly like a sports car, but not bad. The car looks pretty nice too. We recently had the windows tinted and now it looks beautiful.
Overall I would give the 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 a 4 out of 5 rating for our needs. With gas prices today the car has not been to bad either. We are averaging about 25 miles per gallon which goes up when we take long highway trips. Now as our family grows it may not suit anymore, but so far its been all we could ask for and it looks like the newer models are even nicer.
I would definately recommend this car to anyone.
