I really confuse of choosing a processor. Friends told me that I have to use Intel platform because it has a high stability, but based on my survey on the Internet, I choose AMD platform. So, at March 2008 I dediced to buy an AMD processor. I bought AMD Phenom x4 9850 quad core black edition together with ABIT AX78 (at my previous review). I found it very spectacular because this AMD platform runs games very "smooth", of course with my Sapphire HD3870 as the GPU and 4GB of RAM produce by KINGSTON. Honestly, I want to buy above 9850, but since my budget was limited, so I choose this one (it cost $220 at that time). This processor have speed at 2.500MHZ and it adopted quad core technology, which means it have four core in a single processor. As the result, it can boost the performance greatly with gaming, multtasking, etc. I choose "black edition" because it said that the factory already "unlock" the processor, so that the user can overclock it easily. But wrong overclocking with result my processor to "rest in peace". In another word, it will broken, and I will have to say goodbye with my $220. So I decide not to do that. With this thing, I can run many programs and do multitasking (open more than five programs at the same time). I can open and close programs very fast, I can surfing the Internet "smoothly", I can edit audio and video without having problem with the speed and rendering time, I can "burn" cd or dvd very fast, I can ripping, convert, and compress audio and video file with excellent quality, and I can do data copy very fast. I am very happy to have this little "buddy" with me. Maybe next year I will upgrade my "nasty little buddy" with faster one, but still in the same platform.
