When I was a teenager, just about everyone wore Levis jeans. It was the the most popular brand, at least in the area where I lived.
Over the many years since then, jeans have changed a lot. Yet, in many ways they stayed the same. Who could have imagined that a piece of clothing first invented in 1873 would still be around in 2009 and not have changed that much? The styles have changed, but the basic fabric and construction is still the same.
Wrangler is owned by the VF Corporation, who also own Lee, JanSport and The North Face. Originally, Wranglers were designed for cowboys for rodeo use in 1947 and that particular style is still on the market today. Since then, other styles have been designed and you can see them being worn by people from all walks of life. One of the biggest names who wears them is Garth Brooks.
My husband switched to Wranglers a few years ago and now that's all he wants. He's tall and thin and he likes the way they fit and feel on him. He's not easy on his clothes, but his Wranglers hold up very well.
Wranglers are not high dollar jeans. You can buy them at many stores, including Walmart and western stores, among others. They come in straight and boot cut and probably others that I'm not aware of. After all these years, they're still great jeans.
