When it comes to MAC, I definitely feel like I am starting very late in the game. This is my very FIRST purchase from them! I've followed many of their collections that have come out and tried my friends' products, but I never felt that compelled to buy anything from the brand. Honestly, I don't have any idea why.

When some friends of the family came into town, this was one of the stores we went to. I was playing with a bunch of brands sold there. I did a smokey eye look with a MAC palette, then I asked the girl working there which lipstick she thought would look good on me.

First she gave me N1 (On me, this was a fleshtone nude. It looked too much like my skin and washed me out), then Her Fancy (This was pinker than N1, and looked ok, but didn't blow my mind), then I tried Ahoy, There! It looked so good! It's a glaze finish which means it is sheer with a slightly glossy finish. I agree with that to a point. I see it as very slightly glossy; there is no obvious sheen, but the surface looks a bit dewy. I also see pretty pink and silvery shimmery particles. I find the formula to be moisturizing and very creamy.

I read some reviews about the lippie being way too sheer on Makeupalley.com, and I have to disagree. For me, the color shows up right away when I apply it, and I always thought I had pigmented lips! It is a soft pink color. It is one of the nicest pinks I've ever tried. It's subdued and not Barbie-like at all. It looks great with smokey eyes or with no eyeshadow at all. The lipstick smells like cupcakes to me. I don't mind the scent. It lasts a normal amount of time for a regular lipstick. It's not super-duper long lasting, but I don't mind reapplying. Finally, I love the bullet shape that these tubes come in.
