I don't have much faith in anything that claims to gently--purely, even!--remove my mascara and foundation.
Every product I've tried has either stripped a layer of skin along with my blush, or just didn't do what it promised. Until very recently, I simply resorted to a fragrance-free cream to remove my mascara and hope for the best with my facial cleanser for the rest of my cosmetic removal needs.
I'll admit I was not planning to even try Philosophy at all; they offer lovely-smelling but costly shower gels, as well as very expensive skin care. However I caved with the shower gel and found a little packet of Purity Made Simple, which in the end I loved so much I rushed off to purchase a bottle.
The bottle is sleek and minimalist, which I like. I don't want flashy for my cleansers; I want clean! The cap is a flip-top, which makes dispensing this creamy product easy.
I wet my face with a little water, pour a drop or two of Purity into my hand and spread it around my face, eyes tightly shut! I add more water if I need to lather up a bit, and as per the directions I cleanse gently for about 60 seconds. The scent as wash is reviving and relaxing, made of beautiful, natural essential oils.
After rinsing, my skin feels clean but not tight and my waterproof mascara is gone.
The item is a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way. It's very good for most skin types, so don't be afraid of the oil in the ingredient list--I have oily, acne-prone skin and it hasn't caused a problem for me.
Wonderful in every way, I will continue to use this cleanser.
