If you have ever seen a movie with Jack Black in it, you know that you are going to laugh at his stupidity. Nacho Libre lives up to this standard. Jack Black plays a chef for a monastery, but dreams of being something great. He meets a boy in the streets, who kicks his butt, and it dawns on him: he wants to be able to fight. You are exposed to a lot of dumb humor while Nacho Libre makes his mark, but soon he learns how to fight to win. I won't spoil the ending, which is pretty predictable, but I will tell you about the DVD features.
The DVD special features are great. You not only get to hear audio commentary from Jack Black, you also get to hear from Jared Hess and Mike White. There are deleted scenes, a photo galler of the movie, behind the scenes featurettes, Jack Black singing and an interview with the comic book creator. I don't think any more could be packed onto this disc!
The reliability and DVD case are also good. My two young children have put the disc in and out of the DVD player, and it does not show a scratch on it! If it can live with these kids, it can survive anywhere. The case is a normal DVD case, but it has the tabs that have to be opened before the case can be opened. To me that is good, since it takes longer for my kids to break it.
All in all, I would give the movie four stars, the special features five stars and the DVD itself and the case four stars. You will laugh really hard, again and again, every time you view this DVD.
