"National Geographic Magazine" can either be the most intriguing magazine you've ever read or the most excruciatingly ponderous. It all depends on the articles they offer each issue and how interested you are in them. I started reading the "National Geographic Magazine" way back in junior high school, because my well-intentioned parents, both teachers, bought it, in the hopes of expanding my horizons. I enjoyed reading about unfamiliar cultures and it helped me to realize that the world was a lot larger than my own limited experience of it. If you want a warm and fuzzy kind of read, however, "National Geographic Magazine" probably is not going to satisfy you. This is not the type of publication that lends itself to casual reading, but, if you have the goal of really learning something, then "National Geographic Magazine" is right up your alley. Whenever I read an issue, I have to tune everything else out, in order to concentrate. It is an intelligent and informative publication, but not for everybody.
