My wife and I are animal lovers and always enjoy checking out zoos we haven't been to before. When we were in the Washington, DC area, we made sure to check out the National Zoo.

I felt the grounds were beautiful and I was impressed with the upkeep of the landscape. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out this zoo has free admission. We spent the whole day at the zoo. I felt the animal's exhibits were nice in size and they were clean. The animals looked well cared for, which is something I always take notice of a zoo.

I have been to a few famous zoos and this one is definitely at the top.

We arrived in the morning and started off with the Pandas. They have a nice large exhibit and I thought the pandas looked healthy. Since pandas are rare, not a lot of zoos have them so it is always a treat to see them up close and personal.

We saw a lot of animal out and about. Some of my favorite exhibits were the cheetahs, tigers, orangutans and elephants.

I enjoyed the walk on the Asia Trail. It had beautiful landscape and we were able to see many Asia animals.

Another area I enjoyed was the seal area. They had a very large area to swim and play in. The water was very clean and the seals were very active when we were there.

I really liked this zoo and would visit it again if in the area. I think families and even just adults would enjoy a trip to this zoo.
