This table is made of laminate wood. The description on the netshops website is a bit misleading. The laminate is natural colored but it is not solid wood. Despite that, I'm really pleased with the quality and construction of the table. It was relatively easy to put together and seems to be holding up well to my destructive toddler. One point of complaint - the instructions are incorrect in one spot with regards to how to install the long support braces. The pictures show the braces with cross member holes up towards the play surface - they should actually be the other way - with holes offset to the bottom. It was easy just to turn the peices around so that the play surface would set down in on all 4 cross members evenly.

One thing I liked about this table is that it comes with 3 storage bins that slide neatly underneath the center of the table - this is great for storing extra track, play pieces, and train engines.

This set came packaged well for shipping, however one storage bin had a broken edge, and there was one peice missing for the assembly of the crane. I called the customer service line listed on the instruction sheet and was promptly assisted by an employee. They only asked for the part numbers (listed on the assembly instruction sheet) and they are shipping out a new bin and a replacement part for the crane.

There are two sides that can be used as a play area - a plain side, and a printed side with trees, water, road etc on it. The assembly of the train track was easy, however the road part did not exactly match up with the road printed on the play surface. My toddler doesn't seem to care in the least, so I don't think it's a big deal.

This table comes with a 120 peice Mountain themed train set. The toys come with a lead free guarantee from Kidkraft something I found very reassuring given the recent recalls on other toys for lead paint hazards. There are several items on the train set that need assembly, there are instructions, but it can be a bit fiddly (especially with a toddler anxious to try them out - I recommend assembling it once the youngster is in bed or during naptime!)

If your toddler or child loves trains, they'll love this table, it's sturdy, has a large play surface and is a great value for the price. There are certainly solid wood sets out there that would be sturdier but you will also pay the price for that as well. I really liked that the set came with track, train, and all kinds of peices for imaginative play (school bus, airplane, helicopter and airport, tugboat, police car, gas station just to name a few). Most train tables do not come with a set or if they do the price reflects it. I really felt like I got a steal for this! I don't see my toddler getting bored with this set any time soon, it was definitely worth the money in my opinion.
