It's true. I admit. I don't eat fish. While I do love lobster and crab, I do not eat the types of fish that are supposed to be good for me.
Some years ago, I was watching Dr. Ornish on the Oprah Winfrey show. Oprah asked the Doctor something along the lines of what vitamin supplement he would recommend to complement a healthy heart lifestyle. Dr Ornish stated that to help reduce sudden cardiac death, take Omega-3 fatty acids.
My next trip to the drug store following that show, I picked up these Nature Made Omega-3 Fish Oil softgels for my husband and I. I feel better thinking I am doing something extra to help promote a healthy heart.
The serving size is 2 softgels twice a day. The softgels are a bit large, but they are not difficult to swallow. Sometimes you notice a slight fishy smell, but that is no big deal.
The bottle cap has a convenient lift lid built into it, so you do not have to unscrew the cap each time you use these pills (see photo). I also like the handy inner seal with the easy to grab tab (see photo). It's always refreshing when a manufacturer makes your life easier, not more time consuming with complicated and ineffective packaging.
Once, during the summer months when I was keeping my daily vitamins in one of those 7 day medication containers, the heat made these softgels leak all over my other vitamins. What a fish smelling gooey mess that was! Since that time, I only store these large softgels in the 7 day medication containers during non-summer months. During the summer, I just keep my little fishies in their original bottle. They never leak in there.
We will continue to purchase Nature Made Omega-3 Fish Oil Premium Softgels despite that slight "catch of the day" scent I notice once in a while. We're happy with them!
