My husband has been wanting a GPS for a while now. He has done research online and heard that the Navigon 8100T was supposed to be really good. So he thought he would try it.
Frankly, he was very disappointed in this system. It has a nice 4.8 inch touchscreen, but the graphics have a cartoonish look to them which does not appeal to my husband. The system gives you the option of putting in your destination either manually or by voice. Well, half the time the system doesn't understand what you are saying when you tell it your destination, and it keeps telling you to repeat. Also, the set up is somewhat complex, and my husband was really put off by these things.
The Navigon 8100T is supposed to be the flagship for this company, so we were expecting a lot from it. Some of the other features it offers are full map of the U.S. and Canada, real-time traffic updates, panorama view 3D, voice destination entry (which it doesn't understand quite a bit of the time), Bluetooth calling, exit guide, and more. It offers quite a lot, but despite all of this, my husband doesn't like the way it operates.
It seems like a very good system, but it did not meet my husband's expectations. In fact, he is so disappointed with it that he intends to return it and try out another system. My brother-in-law has a Garmin which has proved to be nice, and we might try one of those.
