To everyone's content Ne-Yo cameout with a brand new album in mid 2007 and it went straight to the top. I can personally see why. Because of You starts out with the title track, which to me is somewhat of a suprise. Sometimes its hard to find that. He did a smart thing though, becasue that was probably one of the best songs on the CD. It has a great beat and the lyrics are amazing. The album then takes a detour with "Crazy" a track featuring Jay-Z. Its suprisingly good, a almost a breathe of fresh air. Something different. Lucky for me "Can We Chill" and "Do You" are the third and fourth tracks. Both of those together are a recipe for personal music addiction, well at least in my book. I could listen to both of them over and over again with out a problem. "Addicted" is a pretty funny song if you ask me. It has a little bit of adult themes, but if you listen to the song from the beginning you realize it makes total sense. On top of that its got a pretty addicting beat. "Leaving Tonight" which features Jennifer Hudson is one of those tracks everyone likes, except me. I never found it remarakable enough for me to listen to more than once. The seventh track "Ain't Thinking About You" caught my attention right away. It had a somewhat funky beat and some nice voals to back it up. While its a not a favorite, it came pretty close. One of my least favorite tracks was "Sex With My Ex". It was poorly produced and had even worse vocals. It was a pretty bad choice for Ne-Yo to think it was good enough. "Angel", "Make it Work", and "Say It" are all good songs, but none of them stand out the way you expect them too. There pretty good for easy listening though. Because of You closes with Ne-Yo singing "Go On Girl". I personally thought it was a smart move because I love the song. The was produced nicely, great lyrics, music, and vocals. Ne-Yo has proved he is extremely talented in not just songwriting, but singing as well. He is here to stay.
