I've been to several castles in the world, but NeuSchwanstein is in a league all its own. So beautiful it is, that I've made it there three times, and I'll go again when I'm able!
Many cannot help but see the glaring similarities between NeuSchwanstein, and Walt Disney's 'castle' at Walt Disney world in Florida. In fact, he was sued when he built the structure in Florida. And to the best of my knowledge, since I don't know very many details about the case, he was able to prove that the structure he had built wasn't a replica of NeuSchweinstein. I beg to differ, it is quite similar, although there are some differences, but that's someone else's argument to have.
NeuSchwanstein, literally translated means new swan rock, and is located near Lake Chimsee, another extremely beautiful place worth visiting. More specifically, the castle is located south of Munich, "Munchen" to the Germans, in the Bavarian Alps region. The path that takes you up to the castle itself starts in the village of Hohenschwangau. It's a fairly long uphill path that will take some energy to climb, even for really fit persons. Climb it-it's well, worth it a thousand times over! After all, it is the fairy tale castle of all fairy tale castles.
I took the time to find NeuSchwanstein's official website, and am leaving it here for you to peruse. No review does this, one of the most beautiful places on earth, justice. Thanks for reading. http://www.neuschwanstein.de/
