A funny thing happened to my facial skin this summer; instead of tanning to a nice even glow, it decided to rebel against the sun with various random dark spots that got darker every time I went out for some sun.
Despite numerous warnings, I have always liked the look of a nice summer tan on my face, including rosy cheeks and a look that might fool people into thinking I spend long afternoons on the beach. After one such weekend when I actually did get to play on the beach with the kids, I noticed that along with my "summer glow" I also had dark spots on my forehead, which were not freckles.
My foundation wasn't covering, and my day time facial lotion wasn't reducing the spots, so I purchased Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer. It promised to "naturally brighten skin, reduce blotchiness, and minimze the appearance of dark spots". Perfect! I could undo all that sun damage!
Unfortunately, this moisturizer did not fulfill any of those claims. The dark spots stayed, in spite of increased protection in the sun (this was my first summer for facial sun screen). It was not until about two months without prolonged exposure to the sun that the spots faded. I spent all summer trying to blend them in with the rest of my skin.
While Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily SPF 15 Moisturizer is a great, light day time moisturizer, with the added bonus of sunscreen, it will not reduce spots or even skin tone.
