New Moon is the second book in the Twilight Saga. It follows the popular TWILIGHT. New Moon continues on to the next school year in the little town of Forks. Bella and Edward are now seniors in High School. This book focuses more on the new friendship between Bella and Jacob (who is mentioned just a little in TWILIGHT). It brings their very close friendship into a much clearer perspective and also reviels some secrets and struggles. Sweet Bella always seems to find herself in some sort of trouble though and this does not stop in this book.

WARNING: spoilers beyond this point

The Cullen family leave and Bella has to struggle with the idea that she may never see Edward again. This is when she starts getting closer to her friend Jacob. They become very close friends and she starts spending a lot of her spare time with Jacob until Jacob starts hanging around a new crowd of boys i the town that he lives in. Bella feels a bit pushed away and confronts Jacob and Jacob informs her that he has a secret that he can't tel her but if she guessed then he would be off the hook from having told her. Bella does figure the secret and has to deal with the issue that her new best friend is a warewolf. Then on top of that Alice (Edwards sister) reappears in Forks after she sees a vision of Bella jumping off a cliff. When Edward thinks Bella is dead he just can't seem to live on without her exsisting so he goes to Italy to ask the "royal family" of vampires do him in and if they will not then he will provoce them. This starts a race against time for Bella and Alice as they try to reach Edward before he does something stupid.

Bella also has to come to grips with the fact that her boyfriend and her best fried are mortal enemies. The classic Warewolf versus Vampire war.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of this story plays out in the next two books (Eclipse and Breaking Dawn).
