I live in upstate NY where Niagara Falls is a mere 2 hours away. One weekend, my significant other and I decided to take a little road trip. Getting into Canada was incredibly easy--we presented our licenses and told them our intents. The view was absolutely spectacular. We went on a day when it was slightly chilly, so the crowds were mild to moderate. I would absolutely recommend going on a colder day, because the less people there are, the faster you get to enjoy yoursellf. We rode the Maid of the Mist, which is a boat that goes right up to the bottom of the falls so you are right in the mist. The view from the boat helped us to see just what a massively amazing sight the falls actually were. In addition to the falls themselves being enormously fun, there are dozens of museums, haunted houses and everything right within walking distance. You can find just about any kind of food you want to find, and everything in the area is incredibly charming.
