When my mom was settled in her assisted living apartment, I knew that she would need a couple of night lights for safety purposes. So I bought a 2-pack of Meridian LED Night Lights. They are advertised to use up to 95% less electricity than standard night light bulbs, and to last for up to 14 years. The bulb is cool to the touch, and only uses 0.3 watts. They are mercury free, and come with a lifetime guarantee. For convenience, they also have an on-off switch, which keeps you from having to burn them day and night, or having to remember to remove them from the outlet.
Since I had heard really great things about LED lights, I decided that this would be just the night light for my mom. Unfortunately, when I plugged it in, I was really disappointed. The light could barely be seen. It was the faintest bluish-white, and wouldn't help a fly find his way in the dark. What good are all the fabulous features that I just discussed if the light is too dim?
I have found some products with LED lights that are satisfactory, but this surely wasn't one of them.
