I bought a pair of Nike ankle weights to get more out of my walks. A friend of mine uses them and has seen great results so I figured; I'd give them a try too.
Why Wear Ankle Weights?
The great thing about ankle weights is that they let you exercise while you are just walking around! You can strengthen your legs and your bottom by just wearing them while doing everyday thing like spending time at the park with the kids, walking around the office or running errands.
I am trying to walk more. Trouble is, I only have a limited amount of time available so I really can't add much more distance. But by adding the Nike ankle weights, I can keep going the same distance and still get more out of the walk. I am starting with their 2.5 pound weights and once that becomes easy, I am hoping to move up to their 5 pound ones.
How Do The Nike Ankle Weights Work?
The Nike ankle weights are grey and black and have a small grey Nike swoosh on each one. Each one weighs 2.5 pounds and fits around, as the name implies, my ankles. They can fit different size ankles as they have an adjustable strap and are closed by a hook and loop. They closure works really well as they stay very secure once they are on.
The Nike ankle weights have what is referred to as a "dri-fit" polyester circular-knit mesh lining which somehow keeps the moisture away from the skin. I think this would be more noticeable if I were wearing them during an aerobic workout as I don't really sweat much during my walks. But, I will say that when I take them off, my ankles are dry.
I would recommend the 2.5 pound Nike ankle weights for anyone who wants to get more out of their exercise routine without having to add any more time.
