No Longer A Cosmo Girl
Reviewing: Hearst Cosmopolitan | Rating:
I used to love reading Cosmo. I was a total Cosmo girl. But now I don't like it for the following reasons: (a) It always has the same articles. Each issue has almost identical stories about what is in right now, how to give yourself a makeover, and how to please your man. (b) The one "real life" story that teaches you safety tips is pretty much common sense, such as don't walk alone in a dark parking lot. (c) There are more pages of ads than there are articles.
Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I prefer a magazine that has actual substance to it. I get the same thing from Cosmo that I could get from reading the beauty ads in the newspaper, and those don't cost me $18 a year. And if I'm really in a bind for some man-pleasing tips, I can always go to their website.
