Recently, I must have been looking terrible at work because I received a stress relief package from a friend. Along with some hand lotion and a rollon with stress relief aromatherapy, she included this wonderful cooling eye mask from Bath and Body Works.
The plastic mask contains some kind of fluid that chills in the fridge and is soothing to your eyes. What you do is put the mask in the fridge for about 10 minutes to get nice and cold. Then, you take the mask out, lay back and fix the mask to your eye area, and just relax. I actually keep my mask in the fridge all the time so that it's ready to use whenever I need it.
The eye area of the mask is made to look like slices of cucumbers - like you see women in spa ads wearing on their eyes. It is a very cute design and does add some humor to the product. The mask also has an adjustable strap attached which I think it a great addition. In the past I had used other cold patch products that did not attach and they were forever slipping off my face.
The mask comes in a zippered case that you are advised to keep your mask in so it stays clean. I guess it would keep your mask from absorbing fridge odors, too. An oniony mask might not be so relaxing. Something I advise you do before use is to let the mask air out a bit. Like many other plastic products, this one has a heavy plastic smell.
I think this product was a great gift as I have already used it a couple of times. It has really relieved my often puffy eyes. You can find it in Bath and Body works stores or at www.bathandbodyworks.com. I see that the masks are currently on sale for $4.50.
