This is definitely a favorite in my family. We all love word games, this classic one especially. The game has a few components. It consists of a base which holds the letter-cubes. My game holds 16 cubes (4 x 4). I have heard of another type that holds 25 (5 x 5). I'd like to try that one someday.
Next, there's the lid. This keeps all the parts of the game together. Neat and tidy! It also keeps the cubes in place while a player shakes the Boggle box to mix up the letters. Finally, there's the timer. This timer goes for 3 minute intervals.
During 3 minutes time, all the players (2-6 suggested in instructions) search for words among the mixed-up letters.
Words can be formed by connecting letters vertically, horizontally, diagonally and sideways. The letters must touch. The points go like this: 1 point for a 3 letter to 4 letter word; 2 points for a 5 letter word, 3 points for a 6 letter word, and 5 points for 7 letters and up. The game can get really competitive, and we always get quite a rush when we get a larger point word. So much fun!
