This device helped me a lot when it comes to accessing the internet using my mobile as modem, transferring the pictures I have taken from my phone to my laptop, changing themes for my phone, updating the software and such but not charge my phone.
According to the product specification in none other than the Nokia website, this device should be able to charge the mobile via the USB port and that my phone is completely compatible, however this is not the case for my phone in fact my phone's battery life gets drained whenever I connect my phone to my laptop.
Considering that I bought the original device from the Nokia Center rather than those devices that were created by mobile technicians, I was expecting more. I needed my phone to always be turned on because of the nature of my work, anytime I will get calls or text messages from supervisors or managers and even agents. Having a drained phone will really cause a lot of headache on my part.
I also need to make sure that I have enough battery life just in case I need to contact my ex-husband or if I need to check on my daughter. Being a Mom and a professional requires me to always be available whether at work or at home. I have to always be aware regarding any emergency that may occur but going home very late sometimes make me forget to charge my phone and I would usually wake up just enough time to spend some time with my daughter, take a bath, change then go to work again. It would have been really nice had this device been able to charge my phone that way I do not have to stoop under the table to connect my charger, I could easily charge it in my computer at the same time have my phone synchronized so that I will just answer text messages by simply typing at my keyboard. It shouldn't have been a hassle.
Then again though, it was said that charging from usb can actually lessen the life expectancy of your cellphone so maybe this device is not half bad at all.
