I am not a fitness guru nor am I really fit. I bought an elliptical trainer in an effort to lose weight. I have a treadmill that collects dust. The reason I decided on the elliptical is that I don't feel it is as boring as the treadmill, plus I thought if I could watch tv as I exercised, I would be more likely to exercise. I went to two sporting goods stores and tried all the elliptical trainers on the floor. I liked a Sole better than this one, but it was also $999. This was my second choice and I liked it so much because it was smooth and comfortable. Some of the others felt a little stiffer.
I like this elliptical trainer because it has several program options built in. I also like that it is very quiet and I can watch tv as I do it. There is a built in fan with 3 speed settings. I read some reviews on this elliptical before I purchased it and some people complained that the fan was too loud. I do not find this to be true. My husband assembled it and it took him about an hour.
My only complaint about the elliptical is that the built in programs range from 20 minutes to 45 minutes, but the longer the program, the harder it is. I really wish it had a 45 minute program that stayed on levels 1-5 because once I hit level 6 or higher, it is really too hard for me and I can't make it the full 45 minutes. I find myself doing 2 sets of 20 minute programs, or I can do the longer programs and change the level as I am doing it, but you have to keep doing this throughout the workout. You can also purchase programs to work with this through iFit, but I have not done that.
