Me and my sister decided to rent some movies this past weekend. One of the movies that I picked out was Shutter Island which I think is supposed to be a Thriller. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams and Emily Mortimer just to name a few. The movie takes place back in the 1950's which didn't bother me at all. A U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels played by Leonardo DiCaprio comes to the island to investigate the disappearance of a woman who is said to have murdered all of her children. The woman disappeared from the hospital of the criminally insane and is thought to be hiding on the island. For most of the movie I just didn't get it or have a clue what was going on, it was just weird. Towards the end of the movie it starts to become clear what is really going on and it begins to make a lot more sense. By the end of the movie I understood exactly what was going on but it did not make me any happier knowing because I still felt like what led up to the very ending of the movie was just not even worth watching. It got to the point watching this movie that I had to know the point of the movie so I kept watching it but by the end I just didn't really care anymore. The plus side to the movie is that the handsome Leonardo DiCaprio was in it but not even he could make this movie worth while for me.
