I have to be brutally honest here. I am not an exercise-buff. I don't lift weights and I don't do cardio. The only time I get a walk in, is when I walk to the post office, which truth-be-told, is a long walk. But, those walks are not routine. What is routine? Taking the car or having someone else go when they are already out.
So, why would someone like me, even be interested in a publication like Shape? Well, I've always loved magazines. I love the photographs and the glossy pages. If I could, I would buy a stack every time I went to the grocery store. That would cost me a pretty penny, one that I don't have. Though Shape's focus is on diet and fitness, it also has a few articles centering on my favorite topics: beauty and fashion.
Regarding the paper quality: I think the pages look glossy and smooth like most magazines I see. I read that Shape is the #1 user of recycled paper by a leading North American women's magazine. An average issue is made from 305, 000 pounds of postconsumer waste which is composed mainly of used magazines and newspapers. Pretty incredible.
I got my issues from a free subscription. Each issue is $4.99 at the newstand.
