Fancy Nancy's Favorite Fancy Words is written by Jane O'Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. This book has made the New York Times best seller's list and I can see why. The illustrations are great and it is well written with the younger group of readers in mind. I am talking about the age 4 and up readers. It teaches new words for children to understand and add to their ever increasing vocabulary. This book is not only educational, but it is fun. I am sure that any child that receives this book, will enjoy for years to come. Not only will they enjoy the pictures of the different characters, they will enjoy knowing and learning what each word means.
For instance: canine (dog, picture of one). There are too many words to list, after all, they begin with the letter A, and end with the letter Z! I have incorporated pictures of illustrations of what Fancy Nancy looks like and one of her standing in a chair, holding her list of words that she has learned. After all, it is a long list, about 26 of them. :) I recommend this book to read to a child or give to a child who is beginning to learn words. I am giving this book to my 'adopted grand child (she adopted me), I know this book will enhance her vocabulary and she will have fun learning them as she goes through this book.
