I don't know how many times I've tried to enter my front door, only to find that the porch light has either not been turned on, or it burned out. I can never see to open the lock when this happens, and have even needed to wake my husband at times to let me in.
As a stocking stuffer gift, he got me this nifty LED Brilliant Solutions clip flashlight. It resembles a fat pen, and is just the right size to put in my purse or glove compartment. It also has a convenient pen-type clip for a shirt or jacket pocket. It is a very bright light, with a push button switch. It operates on one triple A battery, and has an unconditional warranty for the life of the flashlight. The LED bulb is supposed to last for 100, 000 hours. That's hard to believe, but I hope it's true!
It will also be convenient in dark parking lots, when I'm fumbling for my keys, or at other times when electricity is not available. I used to use an LED light similar to this when I would help my elderly mom into her home. We never could seem to see the lock, and the "automatic" porch light rarely came on when we needed it. It was so frustrating. But an LED pocket light can be of great help in being able to find the right key on your key ring, and to locate the lock. I believe my husband purchased this one at Walmart.
