My wife and I both tried Nutrisystem program this summer. I lost 20 pounds on the program. I liked the program at first because of the convenience. We were both very busy at the time and it was nice to have the fast, already prepared foods. I have to say that I liked most of the food. There were very few items I did not like, like the Thai dish, Tuna, soy chips. I really liked the hamburgers and meatloaf. They were not as good as homemade, but they were really good. The pizza tasted good, but the portion was too small.
The difference between the men and women program is only that I could have a low GI carb at lunch and breakfast and an extra fat at dinner. The food selection is the same. For my low GI Carb, sometimes I would have Pita Chips.
I also liked that I did not feel hungry. You supplement the meals with fruits and vegetables and dairy. You are supposed to eat a salad for lunch, every day and I did get tired of salads and some of the Nutrisystem foods. We did sometimes eat out and just made sure that our meals were good choices, having grilled fish or chicken with veggies.
In September, we went on vacation and got off the program. It is December now and I have not started back up, but I have only gained 5 pounds back. Like any diet program, if you stick to it, it will work. If you go back to your regular eating habits, you'll gain it right back.
