As a Computer Support Technician, I am always installing computers, printers, software, etc. Recently, one of our clients purchased an HP Officejet 7680 All-in-One device and needed it installed. Well, the initial installation went well and the device was working for about 3 months. Then suddenly one day, the PC started getting some errors while the client was working on a Microsoft Word 2007 document. After troubleshooting this issue for about 10 minutes, I discovered that the error was related to the Officejet 7680. So began my troubleshooting of the printer. I followed what HP recommended and to my suprise, I could not reinstall the printer properly. I searched on HP forums and other areas online and no luck. I even spoke to an HP Technican who could not help me. After about 4 hours of troubleshooting, I was finally about to get the device to ONLY print. Now, it does not scan or fax as it should.
Multiple people online have these same installation issues.
My recommendation, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRINTER! If you already have and its been working fine, whatever you do, DO NOT attempt to uninstall the device. You may never get it working properly again.
