Our family has been enjoying this wonderful theme park for several decades now. It is based around the 1800's and all staff are dressed in period costume. The rides relate to the theme too but they are still modern enough to entertain all ages. In recent years they have added a few roller coasters and a barn swing. The kids area has water games, a ball bit, and a gigantic play area.
Since having a child of my own, I'm come to appreciate some of the amenities of this park. They have clean changing tables in each restroom and most are stocked with disposable changing pads too. The play area has actitivites for kids of all ages. Our little guy has fun with the water fountains and ball pit while his older cousins play in the big kid water section and the jungle gym.
Silver Dollar City offers many festivals throughout the year and the Christmas one is not to be missed. It has quickly become a holiday tradition for our family to spend an evening sipping hot chocolate and strolling through the City viewing the massive display of lights. If it gets too cold, take in one of the many shows while warming up.
