I am a professional photographer, so I need a professional camera, and the Olympus E-3 is one, to be sure. It is the flagship camera of Olympus, and this is one great SLR digital camera. You have to know what you are doing with this camera, though. It is not a point and shoot. This camera takes crystal clear photos, has great zoom capabilities (with the proper lenses), and is very sturdy and durable. It has Image Stabilization, and a swivel LCD monitor (a neat option) and also Live View, which enables you to see what your picture will look like before you actually take it. Only drawback to Live View is that it drains the battery faster, so I mostly just use the viewfinder for taking photos.
This camera is a little hefty to hold, even I get a little tired if I'm holding it for more than a few hours, but that is something you get used to.
The camera has five modes for shooting: Program mode (which is automatic and allows the camera to choose the best aperture setting and shutter speed for the photos you are taking), Aperture Priority Mode, where you choose the Aperture setting and the camera will automatically set the Shutter speed, Shutter Priority Mode, where you choose the shutter setting and the camera automatically sets the aperture, and bulb shooting.
This camera has so many features to it that it is impossible to put it all down here. If you are looking for a professional camera, check out the Olympus E-3 in stores or through the Olympus website. This camera really is a dandy. The body only (without any lenses) cost me $1699.99, but as I said before, I needed a professional camera. This one is really great.
