We purchased this Attwood GasScan 6-gallon gas can to fuel our Jon boat. The 6-gallon size is perfect for a 14 ft boat and provides enough fuel to keep the motor running the better part of a day.

As you can see from the picture of the unit standing on end, there are fuel amount indicators. These marks prove to be useful in calculating how much fuel you are using and how efficiently your motor is running by the hour.

The GasScan is sold alone. You must purchase your fuel line hookup separately. This makes sense as some motors use different applications for fuel delivery. For us the fuel hose only runs about $12.

The gas cap has a vent valve to allow air to escape. This is a great feature if you remember to use it. During climate changes the can will expand or deflate. So far we've been lucky when we forget to use the valve. The GasScan will expand and collapse pretty well without splitting or leaking--how's that for construction quality.

If you are looking for a good fuel holder for your small boat, this is the one. Ours is a 6-gallon capacity, but they come in larger or smaller sizes.
