I am not much of a hiker, but we have nice walking trails at a state park close to where we live, which my wife and I use once in a while. For those occasions, I have a pair of Ozark Trail High-Top hiking boots. They are comfortable for walking, well-fitting, with durable rubber outsoles and padded tops. I especially appreciate the latter; some high-top boots have these hard tops that can rub your ankles bad if you walk a lot; this pair does not have such problems. The upper part is made of leather. There was next to no break-in time - the boots were comfortable from the start. They are waterproof, so I can hike after rain without worrying about getting my boots and feet all wet. All in all, this is a good quality, reliable, and relatively inexpensive pair of hiking boots.
