While in the pharmacy a few weeks ago on a totally unrelated errand I spied, out of the corner of my eye, a little display! This was a new product out by Sally Hansen - the nail product people. Lately Sally Hansen has been getting into the nail and lip arena in a big way introducing all kinds of new lip products in particular and well, they obviously know that I'll be around at some point to partake of the offerings.

Sure enough, this new little Lip plumping product intrigued me. This is a lip gloss that is brushed on the lips and offers up a good hint of color while providing a little bit of a tingle thanks to something called Hydro Collagen Complex among other things that work to actually plump up the lips. The tube is a square glass vial with a gold enhanced black top that twists off to reveal an attached lip brush. The brush itself isn't anything special and personally I think I would prefer to have one of those tapered fine sponge type applicators which would allow for applying the lip gloss more exact.

You don't have to worry about an overly exaggerated "pout" with this lip gloss, the plumping action is quite natural despite Sally Hansen's claims that it "super sizes the lips" - that's a little over the top and combined with the color it gives the illusion of working better than I think it actually does - although rather opaque in color it just doesn't stay on for very long, again despite the claim that it is "long lasting". Perhaps it is if you choose not to eat or drink. If you want to get a bit more wear out of it, is best worn over another lipstick that lays the foundation for a bit more longevity in the color arena. I've worn this over my L'Oreal lipsticks as well as over the Modele lip treatments with no problems - the plumping action does still work and the gloss of the lip gloss adds a great sheen to the lips.

Would I pay almost $12 again for this lip plumper? No, I don't think so. The main reason is that the selection of colors was rather slim and again, most of the shades were darker than I like. As for the plumping factor, it does work but doesn't last for long.

Overall, the product in my opinion is a bit over priced but it goes on smoothly and adds color to the lips without any problem, but it could last longer and come in a wider variety of shades.
