You can feel the size of a room when you walk through the door. Sometimes the feeling is less than it could be because the room seems full, no matter the size. Bathrooms are always a real challenge, since making room for all the stuff fights head to head against the actual square feet available.
So hanging things on the wall makes perfect sense to me. Obviously the folks at Maison think so too, since they offer this great wall cabinet to save space in your bath. Bed Bath and Beyond has a set of three pieces that includes a good wall cabinet. It is only two feet tall, just under 22 inches wide and less than ten inches deep. For all that, it really does a good job of storing a lot of bathroom stuff while staying attractive.
I put it over the toilet since it is shallow enough you will never whack your head while ( ahem ) sitting down or standing up. The two clever drawers rotate out, and are cleverly divided to keep the small stuff separate and easy to find. Like the other pieces in the collection, the hardware is first rate. The shelf shape is just right and the support members are cut to maximize what fits on the shelves. You can get a lot more in there than you would think, believe me.
The materials might seem a little low grade when you are putting it together ( it is really easy to assemble ), but the paint is very smart. It seals all the panels and wicker inserts perfectly, making them completely damp proof and wonderfully easy to clean. The brushed nickel knobs are an added bonus.
The ordering information calls it "French Country" at the website. It is just a very smart, classic design that fits anywhere. The nice antique white actually has a hint of green in it, but so little it just looks fresh, not minty. It would go with almost any color scheme and still look right at home.
Unless you have too much spare time or too much money, this hanging bath cabinet is ideal.
