Yes, the classic batter bowl by Pampered Chef is a simple product, but that is exactly the reason I like it so much; no crazy marketing ploys here- just a simple glass bowl that is pourable, and comes with a lid. I like it.
The glass bowl holds 2 quarts, and has lines on the side of the glass to measure ingredients. There is a pourable spout that works great when we make pancakes- you can pour the batter onto the griddle without making a huge mess. I also love that there is a lid that you can use with the bowl- we have often made a batter of some sort ahead of time, then stored it in the fridge right in the batter bowl for use at a later time.
Since the batter bowl is made of tempered glass, and it is heat safe up to 350 degrees, you can actually bake cakes in it. I tried this one time, and I didn't have too much luck. Because of the odd shape of the bowl, the inside was hard to get cooked all the way without the edges getting too dark for my taste. This wasn't a big deal to us though, since this isn't what we bought the bowl for.
Again, a very simple product, but it is one that we get the most use out of! I definitely recommend the classic batter bowl.
