I have a large, Pampered Chef, glass measuring bowl that I could not do without in my kitchen.
This is Pampered Chef item #2230 and it's called the Classic Batter Bowl with a capacity of two quarts, and priced now at $15.00. Since I've had it longer than I can remember I don't know what the cost was at the time I purchased it, but I wouldn't have a problem paying the current price if I needed a replacement. My Classic Batter Bowl is made of a very heavy-duty tempered glass and has a handy handle which makes it a breeze to carry from the cupboard, to the kitchen counter, to the fridge, or to put into the microwave. It has a pouring spout and comes with a white dishwasher-safe lid.
I can use the standard measurements imprinted into the glass bowl, or the metric measures which have come in handy a number of times when using European recipes. This Classic Batter Bowl is safe to use in the microwave, in the freezer, and can be used in the oven to 350 degrees.
I use this bowl at least two or three times a week. It's great for making any type of batter using your mixer right in the bowl. The spout then makes it a breeze to pour the batter into whatever baking pan I'm using. I have used my Classic Batter Bowl to make jello, microwave instant potatoes or stuffing, to heat vegetables or store leftover soups, chili, gravy, casseroles, fresh vegetables and fruit. The lid keeps everything fresh until it's needed again. If I'm storing leftovers and want to reheat them I just transfer the bowl to the microwave and I have lunch or dinner in a matter of a few minutes.
I think this Classic Batter Bowl would make a great wedding shower gift filled with lots of kitchen gadgets. I can think of a few people already that have weddings coming up later this year. Pampered Chef, here's my order!
