I had a coupon for Pantene Pro-V Curl Lock Hairspray, so I decided to try it. It is "flexible hold" and the hairspray promises "all day hold for natural feeling curls or waves." There is a further promise to keep my waves "touchable, not stiff or sticky." The product also offers control and frizz reduction. This seemed to be the perfect combination of everything I need from a hairspray.
Pantene Pro-V Curl Lock Hairspray is not the worst hairspray I've ever used, but it does not live up to its promises. I don't wear hairspray frequently, but I've used this product several times, and my biggest complaint is that it always leaves my hair feeling sticky. For that reason alone, I will never buy this hairspray again. What I wanted, more than anything, was hairspray that left my hair feeling touchable.
As far as "flexible hold", Pantene Pro-V Curl Lock Hairspray left my hair feeling sticky enough to take the bounce out of it. My hair felt weighed down, and I couldn't run my fingers through it. My hair was not pleasant to touch; there was nothing "natural feeling" about it.
Pantene Pro-V Curl Lock Hairspray did give me "all day hold" and "control." As promised, the product did not leave my hair feeling stiff, and I had no frizz. But I attribute all of those things to the fact that my hair was so sticky.
A couple of other things that have nothing to do with product performance: It's a product for your hair, and it's flammable. NOT a good combination, as far as I'm concerned. Also, the bottle of Pantene Pro-V Curl Lock Hairspray I bought is a pump bottle. I know that aerosol hairspray is bad for the environment, but I will never buy pump/non-aerosol hairspray again. This happens every time - the pump gets clogged, and the spray won't come out. I was running late for work and did not have time to mess around trying to unclog it. It was terribly frustrating to have a brand new, full bottle of hairspray but not be able to use it when I needed it.
