I absolutly love my job. How many times a day do you hear this? In my lifetime, not very many. You're probably asking me why I love my job so much. Well let me tell you why. Of course I love the people I work and I love what I do do but the best part is because my company is very family oriented and they actually care what happens to you when there is bad weather. Portland is going through a heavy freeze and snow warning (as is most of the nation) so they put a bunch of us up in a hotel downtown so that we didn't have to drive in. That to me is awsome.

Ok, so now that I have professed how much I love my job and why I will get on with my review. My work put some of us in the Hilton in Downtown Portland. The hotel is locate right smack in the middle of Downtown with several fast food and sit down resturants. There are also several shops located around the hotel as well as the the Downtown mall within walking distance.

The Hilton Hotel itself is absolutly beautiful. When you walk in the lobby it is very open and huge. Right now everything is decorated in Christmasy stuff and they have a huge tree that is beautifully decorated. There are aflight of stairs that lead up to the ballroom and conference rooms. Also in the lobby, there is a cafe or Bistro as they call it. We didn't eat in there so I don't know how the food is. There is also a gift shop, computers, and a small private cell phone area. The lobby also contains the registration desk, the bell hop desk, and the elevators leading to upstairs rooms

We were on the 17th floor and the view was fabulous. We could see all of Portland including the river. Inside the rooms, there was a two person coffee pot, an oak desk for your laptop computer. TV, a metal ice tray, 2 drinking glasses (they supplied the bottled water), an MP3 player with alarm clock and radio, two telphones for outside calls and room to room calls. The bathroom was all marble except for the shower toilet. They provided Crabtree lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and bars of soap as well as a shower cap for those that need one.

The good part about this hotel is that the people are extremly friendly. When I cam I was asked how I like the hotel, where I was visiting from, how I liked the weather and so forth.

The bad things about this hotel are that you pay a lot of money to stay here and after it is all said and done you still have to pay for parking which is another $20. the other thing that I was a little disappointed about is even though the rooms were beautiful, they were still very small in size.

Overall, if I had to reccomend the Hilton, I would deinatly do so. I think it is very convenient and a sure way to go if you are stuck for weather or just need a place to stay for business.
