I was disappointed in this movie, I thought it would be much more funny and entertaining.
Kevin James stars as Paul Blart, Mall Cop. He has aspirations of becoming a State Trooper, but in the meantime he works as a security guard in a large mall. He takes his job very seriously, even issuing speeding tickets to elderly folks traveling on their scooters faster than he thinks they should be. He has his eye on a lady working at a kiosk in the mall. But he really has his hands full when thieves plan on robbing the mall and even take hostages, including the lady he admires. Can he save the day?
I really didn't care for this movie the way I had hoped I would. I thought, with Kevin James playing the lead role, that the movie would be upbeat and hilarious. After all, Kevin James does a great job on the King of Queens. But I found the movie actually depressing in places, and not nearly as funny as I thought it would be. The story was weak, and I thought the casting wasn't the best either. The only thing I really liked was the beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the mall, since the movie took place around Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
There are special features, such as deleted scenes, fun on set, stunts and more. The movie is rated PG and is approximately 91 minutes long. Video and audio are of good quality.
My husband watched it with me and also did not care for it that much. This movie was purchased by my brother-in-law, who lent it to my husband and I to watch. He also thought it was somewhat weak. I was just glad I didn't pay any money to get this movie. It wasn't at all what I was expecting.
